AN ENTERTAINING ESSENTIAL: SUMPTUOUS CHEESE BOARDS

One of the best staples for entertaining in the Winter is a killer cheese board. Cheese plates are such an easy way to get creative and make a display that is not only delicious, but visually stunning as well! They’re perfect for a light lunch cozied up inside; a little nibble during a cocktail party; or a late night around the fire. Here are some fun ideas to get you started.

CHEESES

Opt for cheeses with fabulous colors or something interesting about them. Bright yellow cheddar goes perfectly next to a delicious truffle goat cheese, a cheese stuffed with cranberries, or a bright blue-veined Gorgonzola. Try different textures for a well-rounded platter – creamy bries, hard Gruyères, crumbly goat cheeses.

CRACKERS

There are some gorgeous and decadent crackers out there, so look around for something you love. We love crackers that have nuts and dried fruits pressed into them – the perfect, decadent little treat to pair with your cheese.

MEAT

Thinly sliced prosciuttos, delicious spicy salamis, freshly sliced country ham—all of these are the perfect way to make your cheese board more substantial if you’re having it as a main part of your meal. Layer them in loose, sexy piles for a fabulous rustic effect.

FRUIT & SIDES

There are so many fruits that pair perfectly with meats and cheeses – and they taste light and fresh on a board that’s usually quite heavy and rich. Try fresh pears, apples, grapes, figs, raspberries and strawberries and couple them with some savory options like marinated olives!

WINES

Don’t forget to pair your cheese board with some fabulous wine… like Vanderpump Rosé!  Play around with your pairings (like matching cheese to wine by region) - and remember that unexpected pairings can be just as delicious (if not more so!) than complementary flavors.
